Hi! This is my first entry on the blog and for this occasion, an introduction seems best suited.
My name is Lauren and I am 21 soon to be 22 years old. I recently finished my studies in sociology, anthropology and philosophy, and has since been sent into the world of uncertainty that is the real world, trying to find my calling. As for now I do not have an important career or life experience that can easily define who I am and what I represent in this world, as one would usually use to describe themselves. I think that what I can elaborate on however, at my humble age of 21, is the kind of person I believe to be, and want to be.
I believe to be a person driven by ideals and creativity. I thrive for harmony, beauty and peace, (which is probably influenced by sun sign Libra). I believe to be engaged and am passionate about women’s and environmental rights. Through feminist literature, eastern philosophies and ecological feminism, these values of sustainability and social justice are something I want to be able to translate and keep at the heart of my life and career, as guiding light before anything else. Contributing to the blog is an opportunity for me to share and explore these subjects, I hope to be able to take you with me on my journey as I learn more and more on sustainability, fashion, philosophy all together and everything in between.
The course of my life meant that I started working as a model, which introduced me to the world of fashion. I met Darta two years ago on a job, seeing her expressing so much creativity with PIXIE started a seed of curiosity in me for sustainable fashion. From there I started to see how fashion and social awareness could come together in an alliance of creativity and activism. Two years later, here I am now starting an internship with PIXIE, a very fortunate possibility to work with a brand and a person that aligns work with principles.
