I am 37, and this is my first ever blog. Writing and sharing opinions is a very important part of my life because I believe, this is a way how one can make the world a little bit better.
Here I am going to reflect on the experience – a method legitimately used in feministic studies, even in academia.
So, why not? I will use the same method for this blog.
I will be sharing my personal thoughts on a variety of issues, which make me think or make me angry, or happy.
In my opinion, I’m old enough to let myself be pretty radical sometimes, although I’d like to think of myself, as a nice person.
There are so many things that make me happy in this life – literature, smart people, old whiskey, songs [written by David Bowie], twists of religiosity, and so on. And there are only few things which make me angry (well, you’ll get to know them as well, that I can promise).
What else should I tell you about myself? Being educated as a theologian, I am also a writer. I think both things say a lot. I’ve written fiction for a pretty long time, and still write. I am an author of four books: two novels, one long-story and a collection of short-stories. Hopefully, in 2020, another novel will be published. Sometimes, I also write reviews about prose, mostly Latvian prose.
As a theologian, in my doctoral thesis I reflected on the “death of God” as a form of religiosity, communicated also through the means of literature. In the case of my thesis – also pornographic literature because my focus was one of the greatest French minds of the 20th century – a writer, a theologian, a philosopher and an anthropologist Georges Bataille.
The rest of the things you should know about me I hope to tell you slowly, step by step. Or maybe not all… But one thing I promise, I will focus on those who make me think, make me angry, or happy.
